An event to celebrate the centenary of Florence Nightingale's death (1820-1910). A private visit to Doddershall Park, home of the Prideaux Family for generations. It is a moated house which dates back to the 16th century with additions every century since. After a welcoming cup of coffee, enjoy a guided visit. In the afternoon, a visit to Claydon House, the home of the Verney family and now belonging to the National Trust. Claydon is an architectural gem with lavish Rococo carvings, acknowledged to be amongst the finest in the land. This was Parthenope Verney’s home, (née Nightingale) and Florence spent a large part of her life here. The top floor is now a museum dedicated to her.
