Visit: The House of Lords and an opportunity to listen to a Peers' debate

'Tudor details on a classic body' is how Augustus Pugin described the
Palace of Westminster. Sir Charles Barry, who had designed the new Houses of
Parliament overall, had little knowledge of the Gothic style and commissioned
Pugin to design the interior decoration of the Upper Chamber including the
ornate canopy and royal throne. This day has been arranged by the Earl of
Selborne and Lord Wakeham, who will describe its art and architecture and will
include anecdotes of life within the Chamber. In the afternoon there will
be the opportunity to attend a debate.
