This is a unique event offering members the chance to hear the fascinating story behind the Victoria and Albert Museum’s magnificent exhibition Maharaja: The Splendour of India’s Royal Courts. After a reception at the elegant Nehru Centre, exhibition curator Anna Jackson describes how this exhibition was conceived and put together; designers and architects also talk about their work on the project. A question and answer session follows. On show in Maharaja: The Splendour of India’s Royal Courts will be more than 250 stunning objects, reflecting different aspects of Indian royal life from the 18th to the 20th centuries. Many of the items are on loan from India’s royal collections and have never been seen before in the UK.
