Tour of The Glasgow School of Art
- The Glasgow School of Art |
A celebration of the completion in 1909 of The Glasgow School of Art by Glasgow-born architect Charles Rennie Mackintosh. Designed in 1896 by the young Mackintosh who took his inspiration from Scottish traditions and blended them with Art Nouveau, Art and Crafts styles and the simplicity of Japanese forms to build what has been described by Charles Jencks as 'the most seminal building within Scotland'. This special tour highlights Mackintosh's genius not just in his architecture but also in his interiors; the room as a complete work of art and furniture, stained glass, tile and ironwork which has inspired students for 100 years.
Tour will be followed by afternoon tea.
