Visit: 'Hoglands' - The Henry Moore Foundation, Hertfordshire
- The Henry Moore Foundation |
Henry Moore moved to the Hertfordshire hamlet of Perry Green in 1940. The 15th century house, Hoglands, remained the family home for the rest of his life. Over the years Moore gradually added land and buildings, and in 1977 gave most of the estate – some 70 acres – to the Foundation. This gift included studios and barns which are now open to the public. The Foundation’s collection consists of a major selection of sculpture, drawings and graphics.
On arrival ,after coffee, there will be guided tours of the house and the
opportunity to explore the extensive grounds. Lunch will be in the village pub,
which is also part of the Foundation.
