An Afternoon of Roses and Scuplture at Dutton Hall

Dutton Hall is an architecturally interesting house overlooking the River Ribble. Much of the house was built by a member of the Townley family and dates from the 17th century. The garden has been almost entirely created by the current owners, Andrew and Catherine Penny, who will guide visitors. To the front of the house is a formal garden sheltered by two barns and the house; there is an orangery created from a redundant shippon and to the rear of the house is a developing garden which includes a large collection of old fashioned roses and a wild flower meadow. Charles Haddock’s drawings and sculptures will also be on view.
