To mark this major exhibition  at Norwich Castle Museum and Art Gallery, Richard Calvocoressi will be lecturing on Henry Moore’s Legacy. Richard is Director of the Henry Moore Foundation, was previously Director of the Scottish National Gallery of Modern Art and is a Trustee of The Art Fund.  The lecture will be followed by a private view of the exhibition which explores the development of British sculpture in the 1930s. The exhibition starts from the point where the three artists holidayed together in Happisburgh. The experience of working alongside each other coincided with a number of innovations in their work and preceded a move towards abstraction. Moore and Hepworth also developed an interest in the forms of stones and shells found on Norfolk beaches.

The Castle Museum and Art Gallery is adjacent to the Castle Mall Car Park, entrance opposite Anglia TV’s  giant satellite dish. Park at levels J-N for the Castle. Exit on foot at level N. You will need to return to Level J to pay after the event.  There may also be on street parking in Ber Street and Rouen Road at this hour.

This is a joint venture with Norwich Castle Museum and Art Gallery and we shall take the opportunity to promote the Art Fund to the public.  Bring your Friends.
