Visit: Handel House
- Handel & Hendrix in London |
The Baroque composer George Frideric Handel lived in this house from 1723 until his death in 1759. Originally from Hanover, Handel composed some of his greatest and best-loved pieces in London, including Messiah, Zadok the Priest and Music for the Royal Fireworks. The Museum celebrates Handel’s life and works, displaying portraits of the musician and his contemporaries in finely restored Georgian interiors, and bringing live music back to his house. A guided tour of the house is followed by a 30-minute solo harpsichord recital of Handel’s music in the Rehearsal and Performance Room.
