View: Fine Art Society - Power and Poetry: John Linnell
- Fine Art Society |
An opportunity to enjoy the work of this important but often-overlooked English painter in oils and watercolour, with a talk by Simon Edsor, Director of the Fine Art Society.
John Linnell (1792-1882), was a highly successful portraitist and landscape painter, but he is perhaps best remembered as a patron of William Blake and the supporter (and the father-in-law) of Samuel Palmer. An exhibition of 19th-century architectural drawings will also be on show.
