The First Emperor

A private view of The First Emperor: China's Terracotta Army, which explores one of the greatest archaeological discoveries of the twentieth century, giving an insight into China's First Emperor, Qin Shihuangdi, and his legacy.

The exhibition includes a number of the world-famous terracotta warriors from Xi'an, which were burried alongside the Emperor in readiness for the afterlife, as well as some striking recent discoveries.

There will be a brief introductory talk by Carol Michaelson, Curator of the Asia Department, and visitors may continue viewing teh exhibition when it opens to the public at 10.00am.
