Celtic Style in Romano-British Art
- Wallace Collection |
When the Romans arrived in Britain in the 1st century AD they brought their Classical style with them, but it was modified by native Celtic influences to create a distinctive Romano-British school. This lecture will discuss the importance of these Celtic artistic trends. Martin Henig is a Visiting Lecturer in Roman Art at the Institute of Archaeology at the University of Oxford and the Honorary Editor of the Journal of the British Archaeological Association.
