Art Fund has partnered with AAMC (Association of Art Museum Curators) Foundation to offer 30 funded fellowships to attend the virtual 2021 Art Curators Conference on 29-30 April and 3-4 May 2021.
The annual Art Curator’s Conference provides an opportunity for international museum communities to come together to discuss important issues facing the sector, promoting dialogue and exchange. This year’s conference will focus on the visual arts community’s interpretation, promotion, and usage of, as well as its reaction to and impact on the concept of identity. This topic will include discussions of cultural heritage and preservation; colonialism, racism, and the transfer of power; the labelling of canonical histories; individual and group bias; collection building and issues of provenance; and the role of identity in shaping the 21st-century museum.
We’re delighted to offer 30 Fellowships to UK-based museum and arts professionals. Fellows will have the opportunity to participate in all aspects of the programme including attending live panel discussions, keynote addresses, roundtables, regional gatherings, workshops, field breakouts, and a program alumni reception. Fellows will also receive a complimentary one-year AAMC membership, giving full access to professional development activities and resources, and a complimentary one-year Art Fund membership.
We have ringfenced 10 fellowships for members of Museum Detox, a network for people of colour who work in museums, galleries, libraries, archives, and the heritage sector. You can find out more about the network and membership on their website.
