A key way for museums to develop collections is through gifts and bequests and encouraging this kind of private philanthropy has never been more important. Last year we helped owners and collectors to place 124 works of art in 16 museums and galleries.

We work with both museums and private donors to bring works of art into public collections. We don’t just match-make; we facilitate the formal agreements and provide information on tax-efficient ways of giving art. You can put our Guide to Giving Art straight into the hands of potential donors to help explain the process.

When it comes to placing gifts and bequests the more we know about your collections the better, so please tell us about any new collecting focus in your museum.
