It is decorated with wide, shallow facets created by hammering. This decoration is similar to Viking designs and the ring is possibly of Viking origin. It was discovered at Nercwys, near Mold. The nearest other Viking finds have been on the North Wales coast, Chester, and at Meols on the Wirral peninsula.
Provenance
Discovered in 2004 by a metal detectorist near Nercwys Hall, Flintshire, and declared Treasure in 2006.
