This triptych is a portrait of Kitty Godley, formerly the wife of the painter Lucian Freud and daughter of the sculptor Jacob Epstein.

Tift was inspired by his lifelong interest in a collection of works given to Walsall by Kitty's mother, including Freud's famous 1948/9 portrait of Kitty as a young woman, and the influence of Freud's work on his own. His style is also influenced by 'Face to Face', a black and white television series from the 1960s. This work was the winner of the 2006 BP Portrait Award.
