The ewer and basin are elaborately chased with floral, plant and shell decoration within panels of strapwork.

The ewer is very classical in style as interpreted by Renaissance engravers and goldsmiths. The centre of the basin carries the arms of Proctor impaling Mosely, the details of the marriage of the two families has not yet been found.
