A collection of 22 photographs taken as part of a series depicting life in the heavily bombed Elephant and Castle district of London during the Second World War commissioned by the Picture Post magazine.

These images encapsulate the vitality of life around the Elephant and Castle at that point in history - how the area looked at that time, how people dressed, their homes and their social interaction.
