The maker is said to have based the facade of the doll's house on that of the children's own house.

The Manwaring's former house is next door to the museum and, like the doll's house, a fine example of Georgian architecture.
Made for the daughters of John Manwaring of 39 West Street; by descent. On loan to Museum of Farnham from 1961 - 2002.
