Sir Basil Dixwell (1665 - 1750), aged 15, is depicted wearing a Roman style costume, which was then in fashion.

Sir Dixwell inherited the baronetcy of the second foundation at the age of 3, together with Broome Park, near Canterbury. Sir Basil went on to play a significant part in the affairs of East Kent as a Member of Parliament, and as Governor of Dover Castle. Sir Basil was the last of the Dixwells to live at Broome Park and was the last holder of the baronetcy which became extinct at his death.
