Inspired by the landscape visible from the artist's studio on the shores of Lower Loch Erne and referring to the ancient ruins of Inishmacsaint found on a nearby island.

Two concentric circles direct the eye to the inner space which is devoid of imagery save the criss-cross affect of the brushwork. The outside of the circle is composed of numerous lines that evoke a celtic-like image. The final work, whilst abstract, is nevertheless evocative of 'place' and reflects the moodiness and soft light of the area. Purchased by the Art Fund with the assistance of the Esmée Fairbairn Foundation.
