Two intertwined figures in hooded cloaks, each holding a placard aloft.

F E McWilliam's work was influenced by the conflict in Northern Ireland in the 1970s, and he interpreted this theme through two series of bronze figures: 'Banners' (which this work is from) and 'Women of Belfast'. Purchased by the Art Fund with the assistance of the Esmée Fairbairn Foundation.
