Collected by one person over a period of 40 years, from the 1950s onwards and showing a coherence and clarity of vision which is striking.

It comprises 150 pieces representing the most influential potters of the post-war period. Joanna Constantinides, Ewan Henderson, Bernard Leach, Jim Malone, Duncan Ross (illustrated) Katherine Pleydell-Bouverie, Lucie Rie, and Takeshi Yasuda are among the 47 potters included.

Provenance

In a number of cases the owner bought directly from the makers, often from their exhibitions or by commissioning works. Other pieces were bought from specialist galleries, including Henry Rothschild's Primavera Gallery, Cambridge.
