The mount is from a sword scabbard.

It has the shape of a hollow pyramid and is made from four sheets of gold soldered edge-to-edge with the joints of the visible surface disguised by beaded filigree. Each face is ornamented with a knotted, snake-like zoomorph.

Found with a metal detector near Bury St. Edmunds; declared Treasure in 2000.
