These dishes follow the fashion for revival silverware set by Rundell, Bridge and Rundell for the future George IV.

The centre of the dishes are engraved with the arms of Fetherstonhaugh within a cartouche after a design by Stefana della Bella. The armorial shield is surmounted by two fighting seahorses, whose tails curl beside the shield.

Commissioned or bought by Sir Harry Fetherstonhaugh for the dining room at Uppark; by descent to the Meade-Fetherstonhaugh family; Christie's, London, 1972; Al-Tajir collection; Christie's, New York, 2002; private collection.
