Dining Chairs from the Durbar Room
- Art Funded
- 110 x 58 x 48 cm
- Private collector
The architectural form, door furniture, light fittings and wooden furniture were all included in the design. Unlike other 'Indian' rooms of this period which were furnished with a mixture of European and Indian pieces, the Durbar Room presented a unified scheme, albeit more Art and Crafts than Indian.
Made for Osborne House in 1890-1891; inventories 1901 and 1904; disposed of 1916-1917; private collection.
