The collection includes 469 groups of objects; these are sets, pairs or individual pieces, and consist of approximately 1000 pieces.

There are 3 distinct strands: 1) British-made cutlery and flatware, 2) Cutlery and flatware found in Britain, 3) Foreign cutlery and flatware that influenced the form, fashions or decoration of British cutlery.


Bill Brown has been collecting for 45 years, sources include Thiers, France, Solingen, Germany and Sheffield.
