Lead wool weight from the reign of Edward IV.

A trial piece for a bronze weight. Weight 7.5 lbs, when pierced for hanging would be the standard 7lb. The shape of a Norman shield. Initials ER and crown.

Ploughed up on the site of the monastery of Swinehead in Lincolnshire, late 19th century.
