A rectangular George III silver soup tureen and cover resting on four paw feet.

The lid is engraved with a scene of Castle Campbell, Dollar. The tureen is engraved with a presentation inscription.

Provenance

Presented as a gift to Craufurd Tait of Harviestoun, Clackmannanshire, 20th July 1811 by the Clackmannanshire Yeomanry Cavalry; may have been sold in 1820s; unsold at auction at Sotheby's 1998; Michael Rix.
