An Ionic capital frames the head. A caryatid which probably would have originally supported furniture. An example of 17th century non-memorial sculpture. Part of a bequest to three museums by Mrs Suzanne King through the Art Fund in 1992 and 1993.

The museum is closed to the public for a major, transformational development project. It will reopen in winter 2019.
During closure, the restored almshouse will remain open for tours and a full programme of events will be run in the front gardens.
