A George II walnut chairback settee.

The settee has twin mask terminals, the front cabriole legs have carved lion mask knees and foliate carved ear brackets on claw and ball feet, the rear cabriole legs are plain.

Provenance

James Orrock, circa 1903. Bought by WH Lever (later First Lord Leverhulme) with matching chairs in 1904. Chairs went to Lady Lever Art Gallery after 1925. Settee remained in family until present sale.
