A pair of paintings with street-life scenes, populated with colourfully costumed peasants.

The artist's works were particularly favoured by foreign visitors to the city and typify the Grand Tour souvenir picture. William Constable spent three months in Naples and it seems likely that the British Envoy Extraordinary introduced Constble to Fabris.

Provenance

Commissioned from the artist in Naples by William Constable; thence by descent.
