A group of 27 works on paper including 'Ugbrooke Park' by JW Abbott; 'Landscape with Castle in the Middle Distance, Dancing Figures in the Foreground' by A Devis; 'Haddon Hall' by J Farington; 'Landscape with Traveller' and 'Landscape with a Figure seated beside a River' by F Towne; 'Taggia' and 'Fort San Giorgio, Cephalonia' by E Lear plus etchings by JS Cotman and Whistler and a wood engraving by Eric Gill.

'Sketch for a Ceiling: Venus and Cupid with a Putto in the Clouds' by 18th c anon Italian is illustrated here. These works are part of a collection of 45 works bequeathed by Ison to 10 public collections. Ison was trained as an architect and later became an architectural historian: his passion for classical architecture was reflected in his books on Georgian Buildings of Bath and his work as Architectural editor for the ongoing series 'Survey of London' which he worked on between 1957 and 1970.
