The tunic is woven with embroidery decorating the length of the body as well as the sleeves.

The design of the embroidery bands is inspired by kufic script, but cannot be read; stylised flowers are set among the pseudo-script. The garment was tailored for an adult (probably a man). It is extremely rare for a full garment to survive from the medieval Islamic period.
