This work recalls the Constructivist style of Russian ceramics of the early 1920s.

Homoky was much influenced by the Bauhaus, the works of Ben Nicholson and the ceramics of Lucie Rie and Hans Coper. He developed his jaunty and engaging designs through drawings. This teapot is non-functional and has a lively counterpoint between the multi-directional black strokes that animate the surface and the whimsical handle and spout.
