Norwich Castle Museum holds the largest and most comprehensive collection of British ceramic teapots in the world, spanning the period from the early eighteenth century to the present day and including a growing number of pieces by contemporary makers.

The four makers represented by this purchase illustrate several important aspects of craft ceramics at the time. Crowley's work exemplifies the use of humour. Her favourite themes included cats, human torsos, and hands. This is one a group of four teapots. All four makers are of international reputation and their teapots were outstanding additions to the collection at Norwich Castle Museum.
