The artist is one of Britain's most accomplished and highly-regarded glass engravers.

The three parts of this Triptych represent Man, Woman and Child as Past, Present and Future. The composition uses glass as a medium of mystery, as a doorway and a mirror, as water, air and fire. It is an examination of the iconography of the icon. The museum's collection illustrates the skill of the glass engraver from the 17th to the 20th centuries. While Kinnaird's work fits into the classic tradition of highly-skilled and flawless cutting on lead glass, in her use of imagery she is one of the few contemporary engravers to extend its traditional form.
