Brookshaw's furniture and chimneypieces are composed of marble, wood and copper and distinguished by all-over painted decoration.

While many of the painted medallions of landscapes and figures on his furniture and chimneypieces were derived from the work of Angelica Kauffman, the flower decoration was of Brookshaw's own devising.
