Engraved with map showing cities of New York and Albany with their fortifications and the lines of forts on the Hudson and Mohawk rivers, all carefully named.

Also has Royal Arms of England with the Hanoverian quartering (ie: c.War of Independence), and the cypher of James II who, as Duke of York, gave his name to the city. One of 26 gifts to 19 museums by Sir Alec Martin or Sir Alec and Lady Martin through the Art Fund between 1935 and 1967.
