Portrait of Pierre-Louis-Marie Maloît (1730-1810), one of the 4 eminent doctors who sat to Pigalle.

Doctor to Louis XV's daughters and accompanied them into exile at Rome. Wears 'the smile of reason' - so characteristic of portraiture during the Enlightenment. Bronze bust on marble soclet.
