Consisting of punch-bowl, sugar basin, 2 salt cellars, 2 toast racks, 12 plates & 149 pieces of cutlery in the original case, formed part of a still larger service.

Each piece is decorated with the imperial arms, a crowned initial 'N', or other emblems.

Provenance

Commissioned by Emperor Napolean I. Full service sold on orders of Charles X in 1830 when it was purchased by Alexander, 10th Duke of Hamilton, half of it was sold on in 1919, now in Louvre.
