School of Korin, Shiko his most gifted pupil. Two characteristic techniques employed here: moriage (heaping) of the chrysanthemums, where powdered chalk is built up to give an effect of relief; and the dripping of paint on to wet paint of a different colour (tarashikomi) for stalks and leaves.
