Bowl used to hold feet of drinking-glasses cooling in water in the bowl, has unusual scallop-shell decoration.

Later Monteiths used as punch bowls. Engraved with a coat of arms, probably Johnstone of Westerhall, early 18th century.

Ernest, Duke of Cumberland and King of Hanover (shown by ducal coronet and initials inconspicuously engraved above the arms)
