A drawing by a sixteenth century artist from Amsterdam representing an allegory of Idleness.

The drawing depicts a woman holding an eel in her hand with ruins in the distance ruins. Behind the figure, we can see dying cattle and a ship. Originally thought to be an Allegory of Ill Fortune. One of thirteen gifts to five museums by J G Lousada through the Art Fund between 1921 and 1939.
