1. St Nicholas on the day of his birth, standing up and thanking God for having given him life; 2. The Saint, as a young man, putting a purse of gold through a window to provide dowries for the three daughters of an impoverished nobleman; 3. The Saint, after he had become Bishop of Myra, raising from a pickling-tub three boys whom an innkeeper had killed and salted down as meat for his customers.
