Fragment of gold frieze
- Art Funded
- 10 cm
A fragment of a beaten gold frieze, with a winged and snarling lion; maybe from an object of furniture.
The curling wing feathers of the lion are typical of work of the Archaemenid period, and it seems that it may be an example of work of the earliest Archaemenid artists.
