The Sawley Flagon, a very early example of Newcastle silver, straight-sided with wide spreading moulded base, and lid with thumb piece.

Maker's mark- WR for William Ramsay, and the Newcastle Arms.


Early history not known; from 1756 in possession of Sawley Church, until sold to pay for restoration work.
