One of a series of paintings in which Riley explores the optical relationships set up by the combination of the colours red, blue and green.

The title with its Indian associations refers to her impression of the strong flat colours- particularly reds, often with whites, yellows, blues and greens, used in some schools of Indian miniature painting.

Provenance

Bridget Riley.
