The principal pieces of silver gilt were made by Marie-Joseph-Gabriel Genu, marked with Apollo's head and assay marks for 1794-7 and for 1798-1809. Some of the flatware is by Benoit Lorillon and the scissors and etui are by specialists. Included in the service are coffee, tea and chocolate pots, two candlesticks, a ewer and basin, two mirrors, jars for scent and manicure tools.These all fitted into numerous compartments in the chest which also had pockets for stationery and money.
