Sketches for two engravings in the series 'Industry and Idleness': Plate 1 'The Fellow Prentices at their Looms'; Plate 2 'The Industrious Apprentice performing the duties of a Christian'.
The Studies already in the British Museum for Plates I and II are tame and laboured drawings made for transfer to the plate, and including the ornamental frames. The original sketches now acquired are far superior to these in freshness and vigour.
