Ashraf Hanna is an Egyptian-born British artist whose ceramics feature in the collections of prominent British museums, including the V&A in London, the Fitzwilliam Museum in Cambridge and the Ceramics Collection at Aberystwyth Art Centre in Wales.

He studied for an MA at the Royal College of Art in London and currently lives and works in Pembrokeshire.

Hanna’s best-known works comprise small groups of his hand-built vessels in which each piece informs the others. This set of three vessels in a stark black glaze is typical of his oeuvre.

Swindon Museum & Art Gallery already has a strong collection of contemporary ceramics, including recent acquisitions of work by Fenella Elms, Grant Aston and Malene Hartmann Rasmussen.

Provenance

The ceramics were made by the artist in 2019 and will be sold through the artist's gallery/agents, Cavaliero Finn.
